It's been a while...

Hello, hello!

So it's been a while...

I don't really know where the past 8 months have gone but they have absolutely flown by. I can't quite believe that I am back in Bath about to start the fourth week of my final year. I feel like I moved to Madrid back in January, blinked and it was all over.

So what have I been up to?

Well, I finished my internship in Madrid back in August. I absolutely loved my job - the people, the fun and laid-back office atmosphere, the work itself... I got so many amazing opportunities during my 7 months there, such as an all-inclusive trip to Sevilla for 5 days where I helped out at a recruitment event for the company.

However, outside of work, I struggled a bit. Something just didn't click between me and the city. I actually wrote a short blog post about it back in March which I never published but I'd said:

You know how people get annoyed when they ask how you are and your answer is simply "fine." "Fine doesn't mean anything. How are you really?" they'll reply.

However I think fine means something. Fine to me means okay- not fantastic, but not awful either. And fine is exactly how I'd describe my time in Madrid at the minute.

I can't honestly say I'm having the time of my life, but I'm not unhappy here either.

It did get better than that I must say but I think 8 months was enough for me. I can't quite put my finger on what it was - I don't know if I had set my expectations of the city too high or if, after having the time of my life in Chile, did I struggle with coming back to normality... I don't know.

But anyway, it's not a bad thing. I learnt so much about myself, what I'm capable of and that Madrid is not the place for me to move to after I graduate uni so at least there's that! It's all a learning curve in my opinion. As well as that, despite working 9 to 6 Monday to Friday, I managed to travel loads. I went to Geneva, Paris, Brussels, Bruges, Prague, Budapest, and Malaga, all of which were so cool in their own ways.

So after my 8 months were finished, I moved back home for a month and a bit. It was so nice being back with my family and friends and being able to just relax and enjoy being at home.

At the end of September, I moved back to Bath for my final year of university (honestly can't believe I'm at this stage already!) and that's where I've been since! Final year is already so hectic but I'm loving being back in beautiful Bath and with all my friends again.

So yeah that's a pretty short summary of my last 8 months! As I said before, I will be back blogging hopefully regularly enough so stick around!
